We, at ReadtoIndia believe that art lives around us, it’s everywhere all at once — in the literature, we read, cinema we watch, the architecture we admire, and more. It is the process of creating — exploring, discovering, and experimenting — that has the greatest value. Our programs are less instructional and more focused on open-ended, creative play. These open-ended art activities are motivating for children.
Our The A(LM)rtisans Club is an initiative to help students build feelings of independence, confidence, and an eagerness to learn. Our first phase focussed on providing 20+ free art kits and art camps to marginalized students in and around Mumbai. The students learnt about the one-point perspective and angle in drawing, the Paul Gauguin landscape, where they learnt about the artist's technique & coloring in different mediums. The Rainbow sunflower where the students learnt about the color scheme and drawing with marker. The students also learnt about the elements of art and the implementation of elements in the artwork, among other things.
