Our Work

Who We Are

A Youth Movement for Radical Educational Equity

Read to India is a youth-led initiative working at the intersection of literacy, disability justice, creative education, and digital access. From tactile books to publishing platforms, from digital literacy to legal access—we’re reimagining education for every learner the system forgets.

Read to India is a youth-led movement for radical educational equity, reimagining learning for every child the system forgets. We work at the intersection of literacy, disability justice, and creative education - developing tactile books, building publishing platforms, and providing scribes for visually impaired students.

Our mission is to create inclusive, accessible education by mobilizing human and material resources, especially for underserved and specially-abled children. Through technology, innovation, and grassroots action, we’re breaking down barriers so every child - regardless of background or ability - can thrive, learn freely, and shape the future.

Working as a volunteer for Read To India has been an amazing experience. I had the opportunity to tutor a student in math. I've learned a lot from this experience both in terms of academics and skills such as effective communication and planning.

My experience with Read to India was wonderful. I taught two really bright students - Niel and Aaron. Teaching 7th Grade Maths, I explained concepts in each chapter and then gave them exercises to do with different sources in order to improve their skills. Both students showed tremendous growth both in clarity of concepts and the application of those concepts to answer questions in the two months I volunteered with Read to India.
